Welcome back to our blog, glad you could make it!
So, this morning we used our shower for the first time (quite an occasion), mainly because the facilities on the site were i think its fair to say, not the nicest! Not too bad though, if a little small! Smelling as fresh as two spring daisies we hauled the camper back onto the road and headed off towards route 66. This was basically what i imagined driving across America to be like, two lane road, nothing in sight but wilderness (breathtaking wilderness at that), it was simply stunning. We stopped along the way and had lunch overlooking the Mojave Desert before carrying on along some ropey bends around the mountain side (Aimee was panic-stricken), also passing through a small town called Oatman which had wild donkeys roaming the streets! (one even managed to crack its head on the side of our camper - even though we were moving at a little above snail pace!), wierd little town though, quoted on its own sign as being a "step back in time" - you could see why. As nice as route 66 is we made a joint decision to get back onto the Freeway at the next junction as it was just too slow and too far to travel so we arrived in our current location (Seligman) a couple of hours ago, did some washing and then attempted to beat the local (s***e) internet connection into adding our latest blog (but failed so far, so this is currently a draft email until we reach somewhere that has entered the 21st century...) Tis raining at the moment and local mumblings suggest that we may freeze this evening. I fear the coats may make an unwelcome return...(please NO...). Anyway, enough idle chit chat, washing to be done and other such meaningful tasks. Nice chatting with you all, till we meet again... Love and all that stuff x 4 nights down, 23 to go.
