Day 6 - 19th July Fairbanks to Haines Junction - 680km
Sorry for the late updates, no web access. Also this travel website is a bit hard to work with, it's not playing ball!
Border Crossing
Roads are a bit straight and boring others wise the scenery keeps getting better. Hit the US border at 1.00pm and drove straight pass it as other motorist did. Decided to turn back and double check with customs if I had everything in order. Happy did, passport was ok but had to exit my bike. Canada border crossing is another 20km away, if I kept on going they would have turned me back to complete paperwork, live and learn.
Glad to see everything back in Kilometers and liters for now.
Once I reached the Canadian crossing I must have ridden passed the stop section a bit to far as warning sirens went off. I was quickly told to back up and follow the orderly directions. Other from that little hiccup everything went fine and happy to get through my first of many border crossings.
Finished up the day in Haines Junction at a another RV park. It turned out to be a great spot with large mountians as a back drop. The size of these RV buses are enormous and there are hundreds on the road.
I have got to stop writing these blogs late at night...
Cheers
Greg
