1 week til xmas eve!
By the time we had packed everything up this morning my ears were ringing and I was finding it hard to hear because of the noise that the bugs were making! They seemed to be especially high pitched and very annoying! We went and looked at the beach and at the creek but the photos never seem to do places justice! The creek was clear and very tempting to swim in!
From the campsite we went into Coffs Harbour. We walked around the harbour and along the rocks where we managed to get soaked by the waves splashing up against them! We walked up muttonbird island which was very steep but the views were well worth it! Everything was so perfect and picturesque and you could see quite far, including out over the solitary islands marine park. We drove around and mooch at other beaches and beauty spots before heading out of Coffs Harbour and on a scenic route. We decided to follow the waterfall way through the villages of Bellingen and Dorrigo to see the Dangar, Sherrard and Newell falls. They were beautiful falls but Dangar was by far the most impressive! The drive took us through the mountains so we had some lovely views of the river and valleys below.
We ended up in Kempsey for the evening where I was very impressed with the shower block on the campsite as everything was pink!!
Over the last week or so we have noticed how the weather has changed. We are having much cooler evenings and the nights can be quite cold! It is so different to how it was in Queensland where we found it too humid! We've also noticed how much cooler some days have been! They are still hot but nothing compared with what they were like further north!
