Poppy & Dave 'Down Under'

by Poppy Horton

South Lakes, Western Australia

The weather is just starting to warm and since the last post it has been really nice and sunny. We have been very busy tidying up in the garden, and trying to get over the jet lag still! Last night was the first time I have slept right through from about 2am til 10am!! Im also getting over my bad back which appeared just before we left - and have already had 2 sessions of chiroprachty and one session of acupuncture - they're very efficient here and you can always get same day appointments really!

We went to Heath Ledgers favourite beach the other day at Cottesloe where his wake was held, which was a bit sad, and have also been into Fremantle which is really nice and scenic! I did have a bad experience with a minestrone soup there however, which may have put me off it for life!
On the positive culinary side - Little Creatures in Fremantle has amazing chips. (apparently also one of Heath's favourite places lol)

Yesterday we headed into Perth itself to see the shops properly and it was really nice! Although it may not be a huge city - the sky scrapers make it seem so modern and interesting. I have taken some pics so hope to upload them soon!
It does take a while getting used to the shop assistants over here though - they are very talkative, and as soon as you enter the shop, it's always... "Hi, Hows it goin" etc.!

Have a look at the great deals on offer now!

Kings Park is a really nice park overlooking Perth which we went to the other day but it was a bit chilly lol! Its expected to start warming up nicely about mid october so i guess we're easing in gently! There were some amazing views over the Swan River and some lovely fountains and look out points. Also there is a very cool curvy bridge - but when we went there I forgot my camera!!

We now have plans to visit a nature reserve and possibly Perth zoo if we have time!
