Hello Everyone

Just a short blog to let you know I have arrived safely. I am seriously melting in the heat already and I stupidly decided to try and walk a bit this morning in order to save a bit of money and now in need of a cold bath. Arrived yesterday after a long squashed flight. Service on the place was limited due to the BA strike but never mind - arrived around 3:30pm local time. Had a bit of a nightmare trying to find my transfer as they were nowhere to be found. Finally got it sorted and about a 1.5hour taxi ride later I was in my hotel. Staying in Bangkok Centre hotel which is really nice and is where I meet my tour people later on today.

Spent the morning looking around the Grand Palace which was just stunning. Now this is what I call a palace - jewelled to the top and so much gold detail everywhere. It must have taken year to finish it all and a lot of it today was being repainted! Not a job I would like to do in this hear. Will upload photos next time I get to an internet Cafe. Lots of people there from different countries- but as its mainly outdoors there is plenty of room to move around.

I am now on Khao San road enjoying even more tourist tack and some air con. I meet my tour group tonight at 6 at the hotel and tomorrow we make our way to Cambodia.
