Hong Kong, Hong Kong
On the way between Japan and India we stopped off in Hong Kong for three nights. What a place. This was the most crowded city we had been to and after having just been in Tokyo that was saying something. The airport and public transport were all…

Lim When your kids get old enough to sleep in a big kid bed, I would dietnifely recommend My Cot Portable Bed by Regalo. After my son got too big to fit in a Pack N Play, we were searching around for a travel bed and this one does the trick. Super easy to set up and pretty compact and light. My son is 4 now and is just about to reach the limits of this cot. He still moves around like crazy in his sleep so I'm not sure what I'll do when he grows out of this thing.
re: RelaxingSouradwip I had looked at that blog and, now I check, that was where I had the link from. Unfortunately, rniyleg as I do on the Google translator, I get quite confused as a result. It seems to me that the fan was a fairly creative idea in itself. Like many though, unless everyone can develop and apply the idea, the competitive advantage becomes to great to overcome.
re: Kyoto, JapanRuth I agree that bloggers buy' into PRs and would seuggst this is a symptom of the blogging mindset. Most bloggers are strongly motivated by the felt community aspects of the medium and, while there are those of us who also pay the bills through it, we remain part of and energized by the people we work with. Those with a purely financial motivation in contacting bloggers should take heed of your advice and build relationship as well a business deals.
re: Brian and the localsDave FireFox users are strong, FF will out beat all brroesws just because of its flexibility, and thousands of add ons. FireFox even got into the Guinness world records for download day for FF3. Yes I have to admit I did download Chrome, but only for cross-browser issues (Codes that look right in FireFox, Internet Explore, Opera and Safari but are having issues in Chrome) SO far I have not found any problems with my sites on Chrome. I downloaded Safari and Opera for coding issues only, and use IE for that as well.Chrome is only in its Beta stage, things might change later on, that most of its users might not find it likable. The only way Google Chrome will stay up is because of the Hard Core Google users.
re: Phnom Penn, CambodiaEmilio Hello there! Well I remember to have seen the adnesse option and I also wanted to include it in my blog but right now I am doing a third blog so I will definitely add it to that. Hopw they will pay me too after the $100.
re: Fraser Island, QueenslandWalid Highly recommend getntig decent travel insurance, World nomads are great, I broke my foot and it ended up costing me around $2300 with Xrays and follow up etc. they reimbursed me no problems. at the Hospital you will be charged the non residents rate, (double) but if you get a letter from your employer saying you work full time 40 hrs per week and have been in the country 6 months the hospital will reimburse the difference . ie, charge you only residents ratethe MSP is expensive, some employers may pay this for you , about $60 per month, but if something minor happens, non emergency, that travel medical would not pay for, the care card proves it's worth, you will have to provide them with a similar letter as above to get it.

re: MiningWiduri I never knew Hawaii was so over touristed.. kind of sad. I'm doing some resaerch because I want to go there for Christmas next year.. to get as far away as possible from where I live, along with my boyfriend. I'm not interested in the USA (never been there), I don't care about surfing.. but mountain hiking is what I love. I need to go there before I freeze my butt off in Iceland.
re: KovallamAan Being the rude' participant of the umnaned wedding, I feel like the only honourable thing to do is to own up, it was me, Harry. I hope you have an amazing time and look forward to seeing you in Blightly, probably around April time, how about a wedding there instead?
re: Cairns, QueenslandNarayan I dunno folks. I beg to differ on the ovelarl usage stats. Opera has a far larger share than is represented in those stats.Chrome although offering a few cool toys, hasn't really done anything that isn't already being done at least as well or better by other browsers.Memory usage for Chrome compared to Opera 9.52 was a bit slimmer, but when compared side by side in page load times, Chrome fails badly.Rendering is still pretty buggy. More research, more developement is needed before I worry about making my site compatible with what looks to be a fly-by-night offering. (It took months and and my site still isn't 100% x-browser compliant between IE, FF and Opera. And nevermind validating my pages. They weren't designed that way hahahahaha)Google seems to be biting off way more than hey can chew as of late.
re: Phnom Penn, CambodiaAna Kia ora! Room 162 what an awesome idea to have a back cheannl throughout a skype session. Thanks so much for a wonderful skype. Our children were incredibly excited to be able to share their ukulele playing with you. Many thanks! We are about to launch our new blog next week and will share World Ukulele day on one of our first posts.
re: Christchurch, Mount Cook and Dunedin, New ZealandTewodros My concern with Chrome and IE8 is that they're still both Beta's. It's eougnh fun trying to design new websites which will function and especially maintain their appearance in the released versions of IE and Firefox. Now we have Chrome to deal with also in Beta, and when all the user-designed plugins start showing up, it's going to complicate matters further.Once both are in full release and the market share starts to become apparent, I'll pay attention to the top two. It will be interesting to see who those turn out to be.And like someone else noted, I'm not real comfortable with Google's rising importance. I read an article a few weeks ago where someone had all his apps, blog, and mail on Google and one day they vanished. Google didn't even respond to him. Google is also too quick to release even Beta products without really vetting them. I just don't trust them and yes I use gmail and blogspot. For now.

re: Singapore, SingaporeLauren Hi MarkIt's little Brother here. Wishing I was in NZ and not in London. Will have to get the next gihflt to Auckland, but unfortunately the airports are closed due to 0.5 cm of white stuff. Instead will have a glass of NZ white to remind me of the fun we had in the country when we were there. Linda has new eyes now and so can see how handsome I am without her glasses. I have noticed that since I have got back the tennis has stopped thats no good. I am yearning for a good forhand down the line with you looking on. I am pleased to hear that Lottie is good and that you are looking after her chocolate in take. Send her my love. Dan is doing really well at workand so far has done a good job early days though he better keep on his toes. I am going to suggest they come to Christmas day lunch if they are free. So keep smiling. Love Simon et al.
